Garmin Migration

After recently being awarded the Garmin account, Volcano have proceeded to produce a series of spectacular adverts. Here is the first in the series, titled "Migration". It tells the story of a herds epic journey across the African plains, through the eyes of a wildebeest. The ad is both brilliantly crafted and art directed, leaving the viewer, at more than one point, wondering- "How the hell did they get that?"

Bare Your Bones

Vincent Van Gogh died an unknown. That sweet scent of success eluded him. Not a single panty was thrown his way and not once did he snort cocaine off a groupies’ breast . He never even threw a TV out of a hotel window. Now tell us honestly, would you want to be a Van Gogh ? What's that you say? Yeah sure he’s famous now. His work is displayed in some of the most famous galleries around the world. He is envied by masters around the globe and across generations. His name will live on forever... Ok bad example ...but even with the whole cutting-your-own-ear-off-thing? Yeah okay so would we, but as a general rule of thumb it’s not such a great idea to die an unknown. So bare your bones in the 3rd issue of Audrey 2. Submit work to submissions.audrey2@yahoo.com

EMMA-Õ

Local horror buffs Ronnie Belcher & Dr Benway have been at it again. Inspired by traditional Asian-horror, EMMA-Õ is classic ghost tale revolving around an enraged ghost hellbent on revenge. If the trailer is anything to go by EMMA-Õ is set to be pleasantly unnerving.

Nothing lucky about it.

Lifting a well deserved gold in the recent Loerie Awards, Lucky has proved to be another Volkswagen Classic. Resisting the temptation to spell out: "A cheetah runs again", or "as fast as a cheetah", Ogilvy deliver a brilliantly simple ad. One that can be loved by the public and ad-folk alike.

Issue 02 cover credits- Design: Audrey 2 | Photography: Dr Benway | Model: Sashi

Some 2's are bad. Cadyshack 2 was bad, Speed 2 was bad, Basic Instinct 2 was bad, Batman & Robin should just never have been made and The Matrix, well we just don't want to talk about it. But then there were a few good 2's too (see what we did there?), Terminator 2 was good, Die Hard 2 was good, Predator 2 was great and the Dark Knight was just frikkin awesome. So we'd like to think Audrey 2, Issue 2 belongs with the latter. But you be the judge.

This issue features the likes of Ian Jepson, Clare Foxcroft Williams, Sean Meterlerkamp and Fly School Design. Plus we even got a few creative writing pieces, and if you dig them they'll become a feature in future issues.

So check it out online here or download it hereFor submissions to Issue 3, hey LOTR Return of the King was good wasn't it?, submit your stuff to submissions.audrey2@yahoo.com or visit www.audrey2.co.za for more info.
